Fred Burdick-President
I have owned property in Indian Mountain since 1977 and have lived here full-time for six years with my wife Cyndi.  During 2004/2005, I had the pleasure to work with IMMRPD on improving and expanding the recreational facilities of Indian Mountain.  A few of the accomplishments include the construction of four nature trails, conversion of the golf course, expansion of the playground and renovation of the ski lodge. Currently, I am a board member with Park County Search and Rescue as well as a citizen member of Park County Local Emergency Preparedness Council.Board Meeting

I believe maintaining and up grading the existing IMMPRD recreational facilities should be a top priority. I believe all Indian Mountain property owners deserve respect and should have input into the actions of the Recreation Board regardless of their residency status. This is YOUR Recreation and Park District, funded with YOUR tax dollars whose sole purpose is to enhance the recreational facilities and parklands of Indian Mountain.

My husband, Tim Higgins, and I built our retirement home in Indian Mountain.  We love this area and are passionate about all things related to Indian Mountain.  Working as a dental assistant for the last 30 years, I have dealt closely with the public.  I have a lot of compassion for people and care about what they have to say.  I believe I could bring an added dimension to the board.

I would like to see our current recreational facilities, like the picnic pavilion, utilized to  their full potential. The pavilion is a great place, ideal for annual Indian Mountain family gatherings. There is a playground for the kids, and the adults can enjoy horseshoes, hiking, Frisbee golf, and meet new people.  Let’s work together for the good of everyone and enjoy this unique little corner of the world.

I have been a 30-year professor in the parks and recreation program at Colorado State University.  My board experience includes 15 years on national boards. I have also served five years on the boards of homeowner associations and currently serve as the President of the Indian Mountain Property Owners Association.  My wife, Marcella Wells, and I have owned property in Indian Mountain since 2003.

I hope to bring to IMMRPD a respect and fair treatment of all IM property owners, a good working relationship with IMPOA, an open and transparent governance by developing a quality website to communicate timely and full information including the posting of Board minutes within 30 days of a meeting, and the development of a 4-year plan and budget in order so we may consider a decrease in our taxes.
